Others store them on smaller flash cards. Digital cameras cost more than conventional film cameras. However, you no longer need to pay for film processing. Digital photos are stored as long strings of zeros and ones internally. Unlike silver halide found on a negative, digital image never deteriorates. Most digital cameras have fixed ISO equivalents but others can be set to sensitivities ranging from 80-640 to achieve adequate exposure under different lighting conditions. The built-in flash is usually good for up to 15 feet. If you are serious about photography, get one that comes with external flash sync. It allows connection to other flash units instead of - or in addition to - the digital camera's built-in flash.
